A Rut | Monday Mornings

A rut. 

It’s so easy to get stuck in a rut. And it’s so comfortable. 

I mean, why try something different and perhaps difficult and maybe scary if the old way works? The rut. 

But what if there is another way to go? A better way to accomplish something. A new way.

I mean, a brand new, never-been-tried-before direction.

Of course, I do have a tendency to think my way is the best way to do something, to get things done: I  know it works and, sometimes, I even know the pitfalls.

Well, to be honest, sometimes I have in fact landed in the  hole,  crashed into the wall, fallen off the cliff. 

And it was embarrassing and frightening and sometimes I even got hurt…or hurt others. 

So even thinking of a new way to go, a different, brand new way of doing things kind of scares me…and beckons.
